One of my resolutions this year was to try different forms of writing. Well, I’m still trying to finish a short story I’m even semi-pleased with, but you may well be further on than me. If so, you might be interested in the following short story competitions: The Hay Short Story and the Wells Festival of Literature.
They’re both backed by established literary festivals, cost around a fiver to enter and have cash prizes. They also (spookily) have the same deadline – 31st July.
*No, the picture of a girl with a cat in a basket balanced on her head has absolutely nothing to do with this post. It might, however, be representative of my state of mind today. I can neither confirm nor deny this.
